The display elements in both Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) and Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) monitors use precisely calibrated components that can be adversely affected by EMI. NOTE: Electrical devices and florescent lighting produce an invisible field of electromagnetism that cause an effect called Electromagnetic Interference (EMI). Contact the manufacturer of the power strip or surge protector device for further assistance. NOTE: If this eliminates the display issues then the problem lies with the power strip or surge protector.
NOTE: Because each of these steps can be a possible resolution for display issues, check the display function after completing each step.
